Would you forgive the silenced?
The glass coated mouths,
failing to play snake on tongues in fear of being shattered,
Chromotripsis on teeth,
Harps on chests that strum to a beat similar to the songs of slaves,
Could you forgive those who remained silenced,
Who turned a blind eye to what was the biggest sin commited
Systematic abuse of children,
that dripped from one mouth and formed a sea in another body,
that formed an ocean in a generation of children
that neither could speak or stand on their own two feet,
Would you forgive those who didn’t batt an eye,
it seems their blinking got stuck in a moment of time,
butterflies replaced irises,
hands bleached in forgiveness and psalms,
“my Deepest apologies”,
as they lay rest the body of my brother,
in a pit they helped dig a long time ago,
A grave is found,
but not one, three graves are found,
the death of children,
from the womb to the tomb,
Could you forgive?
