the neglect on his lips,
remains silenced,
like they recarved his mouth,
to become soft as cotton balls,
tongue caught in barbwire,
trying to dispute with the sea so he can go to shore,
so he can go where its less murky, where there is less water,
less drowning at home,
where he is not having to fight with jackyl and hyde,
the barbarian that resides here plays punch and jump,
a demon much torturous than the usual friend,
screams of halleujiah can be heard,
when he speaks,
I wonder what she see’s,
does she not recognise,
with her own two eyes,
that she only gives gifts that are sighs,
to children that are more like angels,
gifts of god, surely, does she not read the book of god?
does she not see herself in the faces of her kin,
what illness must reside in her?
to allow her child, in the year he needs her most,
to go on chase for her own life,
while her kid is dying,
To go after her own needs,
at the expense of a shattered rooh *
at the expense of dead bodies which rot within her own home,
no longer do we live there,
those that have escaped while they can never turn back,
he tells me about how he’s afraid to shut his eyes,
that he blinks twice, then thrice before sleeping,
that one day surely she will come in,
with hands more like knives,
and machetes that will come and end his precious soul,
how he’s paranoid,
that the ability to breathe isn’t easier anymore.
What a tragedy it is,
to be a sister,
to brothers,
whilst we all die,
in rage.
I wonder why the system doesn’t care.
it truly has failed us,
