lotus flower laces my skin,
the white of it hugging my body,
its softness like the birth of spring,
how it pushes out the pink out of the trees,
blossoms covering street floors,
even the dirtiest become holy,
lotus flower sits and observes the eyes that watch it,
see’s its truth,
dragon fly comes perches at the centre,
flies around making pilgrimage,
in effort to rebirth,
in effort to wash off the sins,
awakened souls come pray by the lake,
the lotus flower becomes an ear for the prayers,
no one picks the lotus flower,
only observes,
to pull would be to kill,
the purity of nature remains intact,
amongst water, floating
and the eyes they see longingly,
afraid to touch the sacred.
