Old Visitor

Your Essence still finds me,

On lunch tables and countries you’ve never visited me in,

Over cobbled stones, and in the space between my house and my next destination,

Hidden in my airport seat, in the NS Rail announcements,

On black sand beaches, in guava and coconut smoothies,

On Tram Seats,

Sometimes I find you at the tops of Trees where I sing with Birds, overlooking Lakes,

In Moments,

I feel, I think, Times have Changed,

That the memory and it’s Placement, hurts a little Less,

But I get Twangs,

Of Moments,

Of Jagged edges,

That feel like they cripple the Air around me

This strong feeling approaches in the Distance,

Engulfs me like a Current,

A wave of electric,

Electrocuting Me,

My hair is left pointing in all directions,

Wild,

Like a Witch,

Yet still meeting the next moment with a Kiss,

And I wonder,

I wonder what the fuck that’s about?
