Awakening

I am Awakening from a Slumber,
We almost didn’t make it out Of,
The Black had settled in,
In a way, I never lived before,
Not like this,
Not the Brutality of how He came and laid rest a Graveyard across my Days,
Dragged Sticky Tar across the Space,
The Cold Emptiness,
all this Trepidation,

The Daily Fight,
Headlining from the first Wake of the Eyes,
My room, the Boxing Ring,
Myself with Myself,
Myself with Them,
They Came For Me,
and took me Out whole,
Like a Hurricane,
Coming and going without even having a moment to Breathe,
Extensive destruction on all Fields,
In every Sphere of Existence,
Fear came and my Eyes became Green from all the Mold,
Plaguing my Insides,
A Jungle of a War,
Where no Animal could make it out in Peace,
I was Predator and Prey,
Eaten and Destroyed,
Hounding out the Evil,
Only to learn that she was a Lover,
Frozen,
Learnt a Foreign Language,
To write Letters during an affair which began out of Suicide,
Every Night, I would habitually fight for something More,
Broke my Body until it shaped itself,
Led me to discover a new Mouth,
A Mouth I had been rescripting,
retraining the words that were written in Brail, Invisible, yet Felt under the tongue,
uncovered a Crater of Hurt,
A Bitch, who’d besotted me in Curses,
A Language I knew without Knowing,
I bleached myself,
Began Hunting, when there was no sign of Life,
Hiding amongst Dragon fruits trees,
under the Sun, and between Black Sand,

God sent Angels on my Path,
the whole of Guatemaya stepped foot in my Home,
They came and Blessed me with Tears,
With deep lightening Blue burns and volcanic Red Horrors,
with Talks of Time and Space,
Beyond my Comprehension,
Sweet,
Mochis to sweeten the foreign yet familiar Bodies,
Wearing the same Skin, both the Seen in colour,
and Unseen in Living,
We spoke ourselves into Hope,
Beauty persperitating,
We bought Rest to one Another,
Because what else was there?
When Love was a far away Planet,
We found a Way to build a Bridge of Space,
a Language fit for Us,
I saw Heart,
and Believed in it,
we Provided a Space of Rest,
A continuation of Godliness,

Fear still prevailed,
Despite the faces of Beauty who had come and set Fires of Love in my Home,
Who came to Visit the Dead,
whilst my Body Burnt,
Despite those who had Prayed upon me,
The Darkness triumphed and Swam through my blood,
My eyes were taken Over,
Could not see my Feet,
Yet,
they all Believed in Me,
I Fought,
But my People did not Know,
They did not Know,
Of where I came From,
What my Blood was Capable of,
What they had done Before,
and what they had Done Now,
How I could not make Sense of my Breath,
Of why I couldn’t function,
or why the Cold was killing Me,
They Came for Me, Now,
But also,
They Had Come to Other Blood Bodies of Mine,
When I was Young,
When I was Silenced.
Why Did I Revolut if not for the Sake of Love?
Of Outrage?
They Did not Know,
and How could they,
I was not expecting this.

I could also not expect,
What a Mad Woman I was becoming,
Wild, Feral,
Soft, like Canela,
and Vanilla Pods,
Iron Gates embedded inself my Ethereal body,
and I was met with Ama, Cha Cha and Daddy,
Who Chained themselves to Me, with garlands of marigold,
Reminded me,
When even I did not know,
What a Wild Woman I was becoming,

How my Blood began bleeding differently,
and how my Affair led me to a Love Story,
One that is being Told as I live Now,
And I still don’t know,
How I made it out Alive.

But my Body holds the Story,
Deep inside the Womb of Me,.
