A Gap

space
breath,
A gap between you and I, and they
A little distance to then recollect myself,
To save myself from hurt, from collateral damage
To ensure that I am ready to let myself free
some space,
breath
A gap between you, I and they
I find myself wrapping my body in boulders,
thick bricks to ensure the hurt doesn’t reach me,
cover my heart is malice and darkness,
so I cannot feel, so it hurts less when they leave
yet it does not stop
some space,
breath
A gap between you, I and they
I should feel safe,
in this safe place,
yet I find myself panicking,
as if all that is around me will collapse,
I thought I was good with change,
but this,
this change it torments me,

space,
breath,
a gap between you, I and they
some time alone, for myself, my heart and my soul
I am very much good alone, as much as I am lonely
