we know of you,
through the smell of death,
through the ache that positioned itself into our lives,
to the way it clicked into place,
Like a joint,
Manouevering into all layers of living,
you were the bomb,
that took out whole rooms from houses,
entire walls were removed,
homes were shaken,
we smiled at the gateway of grief,
it came down on us like heavy rainfall,
a monsoon in summer,
that came flooded the town,
we all kept praying,
your death broke trust in love,
in the laws of control,
we tasted all the edges of fragility,
We met loss for the first time,
One that surpassed planes of existence and time,
A divide between physical and the spiritual,
The Unseen, yet the felt,
The vortexes unknown to mankind,
Your death found itself a home in our bodies,
we kept a coffin of you within us,
one that we couldn’t ever bury,
we kept grief stored in the bedroom of our organs,
we studied the spectrum of grief,
we experience heart break for the time,
in your death, we still bore teeth, wide,
Like cheshire cats,
life rattled confusion,
we broke silently,
like forests in deforestation,
entire Systems under attack,
Mind screaming,
in grief,
Forming a tongue knowing pain,
Yet not knowing the words,
the Taste of Death was in the air,
and we always prayed,
at your gravestone,
In all seasons
In our mornings, to our evening
Your remembrance was ritual,
our universes shifted,
you left to the other,
a gateway to the underworld,
we stayed here,
I always wanted to reach you
