Deep Waters

The deep end is a violent place,
Despite its silence, their is uproar in the water,
Loneliness can not kill but has similar effects,
This may be the biggest challenge to face,
To have no one amongst deep waters,
Amongst the wider nations,,
Only friends becoming family,
Trying to belong in a place that does not want you,

It’s as if throwing yourself into a wide zoo,
Animals roaming around you making judgements, casting their own projections onto you,
Tanvir says it’s all a growing experience,
Why most people never leave,
I describe it as a shedding of skin,
But not one skin, it seems I’m being scraped to the bone,
My flesh on the washing line,
Being bleached until all the pain has been ringed out,
A cloth that seems to be dripping in blood,
Or seems to always find itself in cuts,

I never would have predicted these feelings,
Would never have predicted this onslaught,
Year after year,
Another thing approaches me,
But never have I ever felt so alone
Within my own skin and bones,
It’s as my own sense of self has departed into the world
And has left me for lost.
