Offerings written in Love

electric buttons, pressed one by one,

in quick motion,
current after current,
My body trembling in fear,
the infinite fear,
I lost my breath,
gasping, with my engraved steel chest,
crypted in love,

I was left in slits,
metal slots of empty,
cold, cylinders,
full of ruptured flowers,
like a dog had dug up the earth below,
and left the fruit that had dropped,
trampled,
with no care.

I grieved at the grave,
where I was screaming at the dead to awaken,
only to find,
more thorns to cut into Me, from every angle,
from faces foreign, masked, unfamiliar,
surely not? disbelief,
For I swear there was something living here,
was I mad?

Am I a Mad Lover?
Am I a fool?

still I threw my feet on the ground,
Trying to dance the dead back,

offered my rotten heart,
cut in roses,
bleeding from corners I had forgotten I’d been stabbed by,
I offered my Purple,
came, and Sang heaven into the Wine,
searched for truth through rubble,

my bleeding cup,
for surely not?

even now,
surely not?
Would you Not?

Offerings written in Love,
Sworn to the Highest Degrees of Pain,

for if not that, then What?
