water gushing,
the rain purges the sins left unsaid,
the silent secrets hid under tip of tongue,
roof of mouth a home for stress and ulcers,
this is release,
of tension,
taught tight string pulling on veins and nerves,
you can feel it strangling the night sky,
the moon, a spectator,
pressure beating on the cranium on heavy humid day,
thick musty air, like honey,
except nothing pours, just sticks,
heart cannot handle the paucity of stability,
treaties broken, unkept promises,
now a release,
a purging of blood, sweat and prayers,
liberation, freedom,
I am free,
only jealousy could kill me now.
their eyes a manifestation of destruction.
I don’t believe in them no longer,
they are no longer mine,
just like I was never theirs.
Emancipation.
