Squid Ink

Even after what feels like a lifetime,
Of tears that have left my Eyes,
Despite the years of work I put in,
To wash out the sins,
Day after day of churning myself,
through the deepest of pits,
to build the Creation I am,
Of Light,
Their words still feel like swords,
A battleground on my heart,
Cage fight after cage fight,
of a War, I never started,
and the burning never runs dry,
The Sun never stops Smoking,
Ashtray always full,
I, always ignited,
In Passion,
and in the Pain,
The ink has fallen on all areas of skin,
Like a Squid,
To Protect,
Their actions seared into my membranes,
Deep,
In pockets, I never knew existed,

There are days where I think the War is over,
In this Aftermath,
That there will be peace after all this dirty blood,
But I come to realize,
That I will constantly be finding these doors of Broken,
Ultimately,
To better myself,
Trying to tend to gushing wounds,
An Unending Journey
