Was it toys you thought you were playing with?
You thought battering and bruising this body
as if I was a doll
Pulling on my hair, my arms,
as if the stretch of my body was like a barbie doll
as if this disfigured body wasn’t caused by you
Was it toys you thought you were playing with?
when screaming vulgarities into my ears
pulling my tongue when what you disliked what you heard
whispering all wrongdoings into my soul
bleaching my eyes from seeing the truth
throwing my head overboard as if I was a toy
Was it a a kid you thought you were playing with
When you realised this fire burning soul couldn’t dry it
my eyes globes glowing in golden and green
Correcting millennials worth of ancient history in my blood
You should’ve known better when playing with my soul
You shouldve known better to know that your own child
Your own flesh and blood had it in them to defend her soul
Was it a toy you thought you were playing with
When you broke me into a thousand pieces
And let me lay out to find myself again
I am a slave to God, only
You will never enslave me
